Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") governs your use of the services provided by COGNIS AI PTE. LTD. (the "Company", "we", "us" or "our"), including our unified AI API platform, developer console, documentation and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Policy supplements, and forms part of, our Terms of Service. By using the Service you agree to comply with this Policy.

The Service provides programmatic access to third-party generative AI models through official upstream application programming interfaces (APIs). You are responsible for the inputs you submit and the outputs you generate, and for ensuring that your use complies with this Policy, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws as well as the terms of the relevant upstream model providers.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to all use of the Service to generate, process, transmit or store text, images, audio, video, code and any other content. It applies to every account holder and to any end users to whom you make the Service available through your own applications.

2. Prohibited Content and Uses

You must not use the Service, and must not permit any end user to use the Service, to create, upload, transmit, distribute or facilitate any of the following:

3. Content Controls and Moderation

To reduce the risk of harmful use, the Company may apply technical and organisational controls to requests and outputs, including keyword and rule-based filtering, rate limiting, model-capability restrictions, anomaly detection and logging. We continuously test and update these measures. Where a model provider enforces its own safety systems, those controls also apply to requests routed to that provider.

Nothing in this Policy requires the Company to monitor all activity, but we reserve the right to review usage where necessary to operate, secure and protect the Service and to comply with law.

4. Enforcement

If we determine that you have violated this Policy, we may, at our discretion and depending on the severity of the violation:

5. Human Escalation and Complaints

Where an automated determination cannot be made, or where you wish to appeal an enforcement action, the matter may be escalated for human review. To report abuse or a suspected violation of this Policy, please contact us at support@cognisai.org (please include "Abuse" or "AUP" in the subject line). We will handle reports in accordance with our internal procedures and respond as appropriate.

6. Your Responsibility

You remain responsible for all activity conducted through your account and API keys. If you make the Service available to end users through your own product, you must implement reasonable application-layer moderation and provide your users with terms consistent with this Policy and with the relevant upstream providers' terms.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
